Pagan Pride

Nottingham's Ashley Mortimer is a director of The Centre For Pagan Studies, a trustee of the Doreen Valiente Foundation and a prominent member of the local and national pagan community including Nottingham Pagan Network, Pagan Pride and Nottingham Empyrean as well as a frequent representative of the Pagan Federation.

Ashley is an initiate of the old religion, the Wica, the tradition of British Witchcraft, tracing his initiatory lineage back to Gerald Gardner but he has led an ecclectic life journey to find his spirituality crossing many traditions and paths including becoming a trained firekeeper for ceremonies involving the sacred sweat. He is an occasional writer, even more occasional musician and a prolific contributor to many different Pagan events and interests. He speaks about the origins of Paganism, the history of Wicca/Witchcraft and approaches ceremony and ritual with an ecclectic and pragmatic approach to spirituality underpinned with warm (but sometimes groan-worthy!) humour.
