UFOlogy - My Revelations in October 2000

CSETI AND THE FUTURE OF OUR SPECIES

Just a month or so ago (October 2000) I was invited to attend the British UFO convention at Leeds University and I went with an open mind although I have to say I was not expecting my interests or imagination to have been fuelled quite so strongly. As I read the program it became obvious to me that the most interesting speaker would be one Dr Steven Greer and I wasn't disappointed! Which is what has moved me to make a few notes here - I'll limit myself for the moment by simply explaining what Dr Greer had to say and add my own comments later.

He began with a video presentation of some footage of assorted "sightings" of UFO's across the world over the past twenty odd years which was in itself revealing, presented as it was to demonstrate three or four recurring shapes to the objects sighted in different parts of the world at different times. Dr Greer opened his speech by describing himself as a country doctor who became interested in UFOlogy at an early age and describing his giving up of his promising career to become director of an organisation called CSETI (Centre for the Study or Extraterrestrial Intelligence, pronounced "See-setti"). CSETI's goals are to force the hand of governments and organisations worldwide to disclose to the population the existence and technology behind the subject and his remark that "what I am going to tell you today will make the X-Files look like a walk in the park" perked up my attention. He talked first about the people he had interviewed and thier general willingness to disclose what they knew provided the right forum could be found to do so, ie. all at once in the full spotlight of the world's media. He listed armed forces personnel, former senators and governors of the US and a large number of British military personnel. He went on to explain the mechanism of the secrecy (Black Budgets and Unacknowledged Special Access Projects (USAPS)) and the reasons for why it has been maintained, that becoming clear later when he discussed the technology. He claimed that "we have been robbed of 50 years of development" and that we have had contact and technology since the 1950's and produced evidence to this effect. He talked about his meeting with the commander in chief of the CIA and how he told Dr Greer that he was very worried that as head of the CIA even he could not find out more about these projects through official cannels. After this meeting Dr Greer claimed he was visited by a presidential aide of Bill Clinton who told him that the CIA boss had been kicking up the dust a little but that while the president and his chiefs were "suuportive" of the disclosure they were also frightened and the phrase "We believe that if the president throws his weight behind this he will end up like Jack Kennedy" was a direct quote from this man.

So why the secrecy? What is the technology? And where and who is developping it?

To answer the last point first, according to Dr Greer the research and developpment has been and is being done firmly in the private sector, he dropped a couple of names like Lockheed Skunkworks and Monsanto and described the use of military installations for security purposes including the transcript of his interview with the commmander of Edwards Airforce base (Arizona I think) who said that even he could not access that part of his own base!

What then of the technology?
Well as some readers may know I have my degree in chemistry and I specialised in spectroscopy which obviously involved a fair amount of pretty heavy quantum mechanics so Dr Greer's description of the technology was under my intense scrutiny. It has seemed obvious to me for some time that the possibility of extraterrestrial life is almost a certainty but nearly as certain is that interstellar travel and therefore contact is virtually impossible due to the limitations of the speed of light (basically it would take too many lifetimes of any species to traverse the great distances involved, even at the speed of light a conversation with the nearest other galaxy that went "Hello - Hello - how are you? - I'm fine" would take thousands of years). Greer therefore broke the barrier when he proclaimed that communications and travel are achieved at super luminar speed, ie. faster than the speed of light and this rather blows the lid on Einstein when he said that light is the fastest speed possible. No great surprise here, quantum mechanics blows several greater holes in Einstein and Einstein himself predicted that future generations would eventually disprove the general theory of relativity. Greer says that such travel and communications are faster than the speed of light and their mechanism is via something called the zero point energy field. Now this is established quantum THEORY (stress "Theory") but no one has, so I understand, gone public with experimental evidence, a few have nearly accelerated particles beyond the speed of light but this has largely been dismissed as "wooly science". Greer said "If you're going to travel between the stars you needn't think that you're going to get there on Exon Jet rocket fuel!" He's right of course but this is where he blew me away when he said "I am telling you now, we have had technology since the early fifties that has meant we do not need fossil fuel for travel, energy, electricity, heat and light." This was getting scary. His point being that we do not need, and have not needed for 50 years, to continue to pollute this planet to the brink of destruction. This is what he meant by us being robbed of fifty years of development. He also noted that if we begin right now there is barely enough time to "rollout" this technology in time to save the planet.

So why has this been kept secret?
Greer says simply "power". If you owned a 6 trillion dollar oil industry you wouldn't want someone to come along and give every houshold a box which powers thier home and car from a source of energy that is inexhaustible and cannot be metered, ie cannot be sold. He has a point there! He also mentioned in passing geopolitical power, think of the effet of giving such technology to every village in Africa, every village in India and the eefect of the global political situation. Yet he says that this is exactly what we must do and that the reason we haven't done so already is fear. "No one" he said "Wants to bite that bullet, not Bill Clinton, not Tony Blair . . . . . for fear that they then, rather than biting a bullet, might just take one". All very dramatic, but just think about it for a minute . . . . yes, I know!

So how does this fit in with extraterrestrials?
Greer says this technology came from extraterrestrial sources and that far from being alone we are currently under scrutiny from outside. We are being studied as we progress and he said that the ET's are extremely concerned about human behaviour. He has a point there, who wouldn't be? In the past 100 years we have killed literally millions in our agressiveness, two world wars and numerous other conflicts and now we want to convert intercontinental balistic missiles into interplanetary ones! He says "Enough is enough. We will not be allowed to do this, we are not welcome in the cosmos while we insist on the weaponisation of space. Until we learn to live peacefully here on earth we will be stopped from joining the universe" and he cited documented evidence of a part of the star wars US project where one of these space weapons was actually destroyed under mysterious circumstances which of course no one in the US military or government will admit . . . until now, for Dr Greer claims to have two witnesses to this incident willing to come forward to testify.

To delve further into the technology Dr Greer went onto describe the mechanism for super luminar technology and electrogravitic propulsion systems and he said it is the same as people having out of body experiences have achieved. This blew the lid for me, he was talking about familiar territory to me here, spirituality! So much of what he said then made sense to me, subjects with which I feel at home, astral travel and communication, thought forms, telepathic communications and so on. All in all I found the science a bit wooly, my understanding of physics, relativity and quantum mechanics is quite good and what I was hearing contradicted much of what I believe makes sense but suddenly I see that my knowledge of spirituality does too and yet I find that acceptable - both subjects lead me to have thought for quite some time now that we (the humans) need to make some changes before we destroy ourselves and our planet.

Well there is much to be done then, this disclosure should happen, it must happen. I will write more soon and expand a little with more of my own thoughts. For now I will leave with Dr Greer's closing remarks:

"We, the people, have to do this. We need to put this right and get on with our existence. We CAN do it, we can bring sufficient pressure to bear on our governments, I belive they are willing to do this if it is forced upon them to do so, but not unless it is. I belive the future of our species is bright, we can move forward through this and we must . . . and I belive we will".
